Beginning Ericksonian Hypnosis:

The Academy for Hypnotic Studies' Beginning Ericksonian Hypnosis workshop provides students with a basic understanding of hypnosis, theories of hypnosis and practical experiences in communication, induction, suggestion and awakening techniques. 

The workshop will help you learn:

  • The history of hypnosis from ancient Egypt to today.
  • Theories of hypnosis, what they mean to the hypnotherapist and how they relate to actual practices.
  • Which method of induction is best suited to a variety of individuals.
  • How to identify and recognize individual learning strategies by observing eye movements.
  • Transference, counter transference and ethical considerations in interpersonal relationships with the hypnotic subject.
  • How the mind works in the hypnotic state, i.e., how it understands and functions.
  • Ways to build rapport and enhance hypnotic suggestion.
  • Direct and indirect techniques of induction.
  • Fluid transfer from one technique to another.
  • Deepening techniques and proper awakening techniques.

The workshop also provides the student with practical experience in all of the above areas to ensure a sound understanding of the concepts presented in the workshop.

Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are available for social Workers and LPC's as is certification from the American Board of Hypnotherapy.
